BTLA BROKER / FOR BUSINESSES

Cyber insurance for businesses.
When an incident stops operations.

System downtime, loss of access to data and response costs can affect several departments at once. We will clarify your company’s needs and compare the terms of available cyber cover.

For businesses dependent on data, systems and uninterrupted digital services.

01 / YOUR SITUATION

The conversation starts with your business.

We will establish your needs based on your operations, contracts and planned changes. We help compare proposals on the same assumptions.

  • Businesses whose sales and service depend on IT systems.
  • Organisations processing client or partner data.
  • Teams planning cover renewal and a security review.

02 / SCOPE OF OUR WORK

What do we establish before choosing an offer?

Availability and scope depend on assessment of the situation and the specific quotation terms. We also discuss limits, exclusions and the company’s obligations together.

What do we check in these areas?

Incident response

We check how expert assistance is activated, incidents are reported and expenses are agreed. We establish which response and data recovery costs may be covered by a specific quotation.

Business interruption

We compare the definition of interruption, the waiting period, how the loss is calculated and the limits. We ask separately about dependence on external suppliers: a breakdown of your own server and an interruption to a cloud service may not be subject to the same terms.

Liability and limitations

We analyse liability relating to data and network security, exclusions and technical requirements. Paying a fraudulent invoice, ransom or an administrative fine is not automatically covered by every policy.

03 / HOW WE WORK

You know what to prepare and what decisions to make.

Prepare a description of activities, turnover, IT dependencies, incident history and information on MFA, backups and restoration tests. Complete the questionnaire with the person responsible for security where possible.

What do we check in these areas?

We identify your needs

We organise the documents and scenarios that matter to your business.

We compare terms

We explain quotation differences, available options and remaining limitations.

We discuss the decision

We agree the next steps, dates and information that needs updating.

04 / BEFORE WE TALK

Worth knowing.

Does a policy replace IT security?

No. The insurer assesses security measures and may make the quotation conditional on specific requirements. An accurate questionnaire and procedures actually in use matter both when taking out insurance and handling an incident.

Is every system failure an incident covered by the policy?

No. Event definitions, business interruption cover and exclusions must be checked. Supplier outages, earlier events and waiting periods are particularly important.

How should you prepare to discuss a limit?

Set out the possible downtime, restoration costs, the volume of data and your dependence on partners. We will compare these scenarios with the offers' limits, sublimits and excesses.

BTLA / IN PRACTICE

From your business situation to a decision.

SPECIFICS / BEFORE A DECISION

Before you request a quote.

What affects the cost?

  • Scale of operations and types of data processed
  • Security measures, backups and incident history
  • Limits and expected assistance

These are starting points for a conversation. A meaningful price comparison requires a defined scope and terms of cover.

What will help our first conversation?

  • Description of critical systems
  • Information about backups and access
  • Expectations for post-incident support

Don't have everything? Start with a brief description. We will establish what can be added later.

Does cyber insurance replace IT security?

No. The discussion of cover takes account of existing safeguards and the insurer's requirements. Do not send passwords, access keys or details that would allow access to systems in the questionnaire.

What happens after you report a claim?

We will contact you about your needs, clarify the information and agree the scope of further analysis. An enquiry alone does not put cover in place.
