BTLA BROKER / HOW WE WORK / 03
We negotiate and implement.
Comparison, decision and a smooth start.
We compare quotes on a common set of assumptions and explain material differences. After a programme is chosen, we help organise documents, dates and ongoing service arrangements so the decision translates clearly into practice.
01 / CONTEXT
We compare solutions on a comparable basis.
A lower premium may reflect a different excess, cover or limits. Before a decision, we show where proposals differ, which terms need clarification and which elements still need agreement.
- Are all proposals based on the same information?
- Which differences matter to this particular business?
- What needs to be confirmed before cover starts?
02 / MORE DETAIL
From an enquiry to a working programme.
Preparing a comparison
We organise the information and requirements. When assessing quotations, we consider cover, sums insured, sublimits, excesses, exclusions and service arrangements, among other factors.
Discuss this coverNegotiation and decision
We explain differences and discuss terms that may be negotiable. The availability of changes depends on the risk assessment and the insurer's position; you make your decision based on the information presented.
Discuss this coverImplementation and explaining the rules
We help check documents, dates and service contacts. We establish who in the company reports changes, monitors renewals and gathers information after a loss.
Discuss this cover03 / A SCENARIO TO DISCUSS
Comparison example: two different motor own damage quotations.
Two proposals for the same fleet may have different repair arrangements, excesses and assistance terms. A premium difference becomes useful only when these elements are compared. We use this method for other types of cover too.
04 / REVIEW OUTCOME
A programme that remains clear after the documents are signed.
Discuss comparing quotations ↗- A comparison of the proposals' key terms.
- Agreed points and open questions explained before you decide.
- Organised programme documents and dates.
- Arrangements for notifying changes and getting in touch about a claim.
What should you prepare?
We need up-to-date data approved for the enquiry and people authorised to decide for the company. We also agree operational contacts and the documents required to conclude the chosen contracts.
05 / USEFUL TO KNOW
Before the next step.
Do negotiations always reduce the premium?
There is no guarantee. The aim may also be to change the cover, a limit or another term. The outcome depends on the particular offer and the risk assessment.
Is the cheapest quotation automatically recommended?
No. We assess cost alongside cover and terms. Important differences should be visible before you choose, not only after a loss.
When can the company consider its cover to be in force?
Once the contract and the conditions for its commencement have been confirmed. Exchanging proposals or agreeing to further negotiations does not replace that confirmation.
