BTLA BROKER / HOW WE WORK / 01
We get to know your business.
Questions first. Then cover.
A useful insurance discussion starts with the business's activities, plans and experience. We establish what is already covered, what has changed and which situations need closer analysis.
01 / CONTEXT
We establish the starting point.
You can contact us before policy renewal, when starting a new investment or because you have doubts about your current cover. First, we establish the purpose of the conversation and identify the people familiar with the key processes. This helps us gather the information needed for a specific decision.
- What does your business do, and what does its revenue depend on?
- What has changed since the current policies were taken out?
- Which scenario would most disrupt continued operations?
02 / MORE DETAIL
Three sources of knowledge about your business.
A conversation about your business
We learn about locations, processes, clients, suppliers and significant contracts. We distinguish the formal description from the activities the business actually performs.

Experience and plans
We ask about losses, difficulties in handling them and changes planned for the next period. We also want to know about events that did not result in a policy payment.

Document review
We read the available policies, attachments and terms. We compare basic information with the current situation and establish what is still missing.
03 / A SCENARIO TO DISCUSS
A conversation example: a business has opened a warehouse.
The insurance schedule still lists one location, but some goods are already stored at a new address. The first step is to establish dates, values and warehouse use. Only then can the existing wording and need for changes be assessed.
04 / REVIEW OUTCOME
We finish with a clear starting point for the analysis.
Start by telling us about your business ↗- An agreed objective and scope for the next stage of work.
- A list of documents and missing information.
- Initial areas requiring closer examination.
- The next step and the people needed to carry it out.
What should you prepare?
A brief business description and reason for contact are enough for the first conversation. Prepare current policies and claims history if you have them. We agree the full document set and how to provide it once we understand the situation.
05 / USEFUL TO KNOW
Before the next step.
Do I need to complete a lengthy questionnaire before the conversation?
You do not need to gather everything in advance yourself. We will start with the basics and tailor further questions to your activities and the planned review.
Who should attend the first meeting?
Someone familiar with the business and the reason for reviewing cover. Later, information from finance, administration, HR, production or fleet management may be needed.
Does simply sending policies start cover?
No. A conversation and document review do not confirm that an insurance contract has been concluded. The start and scope of cover follow the agreed terms and documents.
