Before you contact us
How much does working with BTLA cost?
We agree the scope of analysis and payment arrangements before starting work together. Sending an enquiry initiates contact; it does not form a contract for paid services. Legal assistance in a dispute is agreed separately.
Where does the broker's remuneration come from?
Before we begin working together, we will explain the remuneration arrangements for your case and whether the client is expected to pay a fee. It is worth distinguishing the cost of the policy itself from payment arrangements for brokerage and legal services.
I have a policy from an agent. Can I bring it to BTLA?
Yes. Your existing policy is a useful starting point for a review. We will check its scope and your company’s current situation. Talking to BTLA does not, in itself, amend or terminate the contract in force.
Do you need to wait until the current policy expires?
The conversation and analysis can start earlier, particularly after buying machinery, expanding or changing your operations. The timing and possibility of changes to cover depend on the particular contract.
01 / YOUR SITUATION
For a fleet that drives results.
We help with programme renewal and changes to fleet structure. We review both the cover and arrangements for adding vehicles and handling losses.
- You manage vehicles that are owned, leased or rented.
- You are comparing different comprehensive motor and assistance options.
- You want to organise claims data and programme costs.
02 / SCOPE OF OUR WORK
Comparison on the same basis.
The scope and availability of cover depend on the company's situation and the terms of individual offers. We also discuss limitations together.
What do we check in these areas?
Vehicles and risks
We review fleet composition, vehicle purpose and use. We consider finance terms and insurance requirements.
Scope and repairs
We compare motor third-party liability, comprehensive motor, personal accident and assistance cover according to your business's needs. Among other things, we check the repair option, excesses, territorial scope and restrictions on assistance.
Service throughout the year
We discuss reporting changes, vehicle adjustments and the flow of information after a loss. Claims history helps assess which parts of the programme need attention.
- An organised fleet list and claims information.
- Comparison of cover options and costs you bear yourself.
- A discussion of service arrangements and programme updates.
- Guidance on next steps for changes and claims.
04 / HOW WE START
From a conversation to an informed decision.
What should you prepare first?
Prepare a vehicle list, current policies and claims history. Note vehicles with particular requirements: special bodywork, unusual operations or critical importance to the business.
What do we check in these areas?
We gather information
We organise fleet details, financing and claims history.
We compare options
We compare cover and the terms of repairs and assistance.
We agree the service arrangements
We discuss programme implementation and reporting changes.
05 / BEFORE WE TALK
Worth knowing.
How many vehicles do you need to discuss a fleet programme?
Terms depend on insurers’ proposals and the company’s characteristics. Provide the number and types of vehicles — we will identify options worth comparing.
Does every vehicle need the same cover?
That would not always meet the business's needs. We analyse cover according to the vehicle type, value, financing and use.
Will assistance provide a suitable replacement vehicle?
Check the terms: vehicle class, availability, hire period and events triggering assistance. The assistance product’s name alone does not determine these details.
Is claims history used only to calculate the price?
It also helps identify recurring incidents and costs borne by the business. This broadens the discussion to how cover is organised and losses are prevented.
SPECIFICS / BEFORE A DECISION
Before you request a quote.
What affects the cost?
- Type, number and use of vehicles
- Claims history and motor liability, comprehensive and assistance cover
- Repair terms and excesses
These are starting points for a conversation. A meaningful price comparison requires a defined scope and terms of cover.
What will help our first conversation?
- Up-to-date vehicle list
- Policy expiry dates and claims history
- Leasing or financing requirements
Don't have everything? Start with a brief description. We will establish what can be added later.
Can different policy dates be coordinated?
We check dates and whether they can be coordinated. The approach depends on existing contracts and insurers' proposals; there should be no gaps in cover.
