BTLA BROKER / THE OUTCOME OF A POLICY REVIEW
What do you get from an insurance review?
A list of policies is a starting point. A useful review explains what needs attention, why it matters to the business and what to do next. Below is a simple example of how findings can be presented.
Discuss a policy review ↓See a sample report ↓Agree the scope first
A review can cover a selected policy or an agreed insurance programme. We establish the objective, documents needed and how findings will be presented.
Findings, priorities and questions
We distinguish confirmed information from gaps in the evidence and compare business needs with policy terms. Unclear points require documents or confirmation from the insurer.
Decisions and next steps
The summary supports decisions on values, scope or terms. The illustration and form on this page do not analyse your policy or confirm insurance cover.
Demonstration only
How we organise the findings.
A simplified, fictional example of a review summary. It is not a client document, an assessment of your policy or confirmation that a loss is covered. The actual scope and format depend on the work agreed.
Property
Following expansion, a new building is missing from the schedule.
Compare the schedule, current values and sums insured.
Liability and contracts
A new client’s requirements have not been compared with the policy.
Compare contractual requirements with cover, limits and exclusions.
Interruption
Business interruption terms are missing from the available documents.
Establish whether BI is included, then check insured events and the cover period.
