BTLA Broker / Property, machinery and investment projects

Property operated underground.
Describe the network and its importance to operations.

Equipment operating underground requires an individual description of conditions and repair access. We prepare the information needed to assess the possibility of insuring such property.

For entities owning or operating underground infrastructure.

01 / Needs analysis

What will we establish before comparing quotes?

Availability, premium, limits, excesses and exclusions depend on risk assessment and the specific contract terms. Sending an enquiry does not activate cover.

What do we check in these areas?

Subject matter and operating environment

We establish the equipment type, operating location and role in the process. An asset register alone does not adequately describe underground working conditions.

Damage scenarios

We discuss events relevant to the particular location and operating method. The cover requires an individual assessment and an analysis of insurance market restrictions.

Recovery and repair

We check the importance of access, recovery, transport and replacement of equipment. These elements should be clearly described before a loss occurs.

02 / Preparing for the discussion

You do not need to have all the documents straight away.

Provide basic information in the questionnaire. If you are unsure about something, describe it briefly or choose a conversation. Once we understand your needs, we will establish what data is required for further analysis.

What should you prepare?

Equipment list, values, working environment, servicing procedures and incident history — we will agree detailed documents individually.

We will agree documents and details individually. The form starts contact; do not use it to send sensitive data or third-party documents.

03 / An important distinction

Before you choose cover.

Will a standard property policy cover underground equipment?

You should not assume so. The subject matter and operating conditions must be described explicitly. The availability of cover depends on the insurer's individual assessment.

What determines the price?

It depends on the subject matter and scale of the risk, the cover, limits, claims history and the terms offered by the insurer. First, we need information about your situation. We do not provide a misleading quote based on the product name alone.

SPECIFICS / BEFORE A DECISION

Before you request a quote.

What affects the cost?

  • Type and value of infrastructure
  • Location, condition and access for repairs
  • Insured events and limits

These are starting points for a conversation. A meaningful price comparison requires a defined scope and terms of cover.

What will help our first conversation?

  • Description and layout of infrastructure
  • Condition and maintenance information
  • Values and potential repair costs

Don't have everything? Start with a brief description. We will establish what can be added later.

Why is a description of the location needed?

Access to infrastructure, its surroundings and dependencies on other installations affect risk assessment and possible repair methods.

What happens after you report a claim?

We will contact you about your needs, clarify the information and agree the scope of further analysis. An enquiry alone does not put cover in place.
